Assistant Manager of Operations, UMass Center at Springfield (Springfield, MA)

The UMass Center at Springfield (UMCS) provides a physical space for partnerships between the University of Massachusetts, the local community and other area institutes of education. It provides a central location accessible to each school's students. Through a combination of traditional in-classroom learning, advanced telecommunications, and other technology investments, the UMass Center provides college-course-specific opportunities not previously available in the area as well as community engagement opportunities for the University. The Assistant Manager of Operations assists with the management of the operations of this Western Mass. urban satellite center and oversees the Center's operations during that time when the Director of Operations is not present. The Assistant Manager of Operations configures, maintains, and supports the computer systems operated by Enterprise Services and Academic Computing clients. These computer systems, and the services they deliver, provide mission critical services to the Center. Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the Assistant Manager's duties shall include but not be limited to: management of the Center's operations; IT and technical support for all facility users and systems; configure, maintain and support the computer systems operated by UMass Enterprise Services and Academic Computing clients; facility oversight during these times; and assisting the Director of Operations in the preparation of the center's budget.

Research Analyst, Applied Research and Program Evaluation (Shrewsbury, MA; Boston, MA; Hadley, MA)

Research Analysts assist with all aspects of project implementation, and generally are responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities related to data collection, analyses of data, and reporting of findings. Research Analysts are expected to have a solid understanding of research and evaluation methodologies, to independently manage data collection activities, and to contribute to summarizing and presenting findings to meet the needs of clients.

Research Manager, Applied Research and Program Evaluation (Shrewsbury, MA; Boston, MA; Hadley, MA)

Research Managers are responsible for the day-to-day management of all aspects of their projects, including conceptualizing and developing sound research plans and timelines, implementing plans within stated timelines, conducting appropriate quantitative and/or qualitative analyses of data, synthesizing data to surface findings, and developing high quality project deliverables with clearly stated conclusions and recommendations. Research Managers are expected to possess a solid foundation in research and evaluation methods, strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills, and the ability to independently manage projects or components of complex projects. Depending upon the size and scope of projects, Research Managers may be responsible for supervising and mentoring staff on their project team, and are expected to foster a collaborative team approach to project implementation. Although not solely responsible for developing new business, Research Managers are expected to identify funding opportunities and participate in development activities.
